MILWAUKEE'S LEGENDARY BASSMAN

When you ask anyone who is familiar with the local music scene about bass players in Milwaukee, Rick Holmes will be on the top of (or at least close to the top of) everybody's list.

This multi WAMI award winner has been playing the Southeast Wisconsin scene full time since 1993. Besides running jam sessions at all of Milwaukee's hotspots (Mustang Shelly's, Kokopelli's, 6-Points Pub, Up & Under Pub to mention a few), he has found time to tour with local blues master Reverend Raven, as well as having toured with internationally renowned blues legends Bryan Lee, Jimmy Reed, and Albert King.

Over recent years, you could see Rick playing as a regular with Soul Patrol, Chesterfield Kings, South Bound, Zoot Suit Boogie, and The Stratotones.

According to Rick, "Front Page News is the kind of project I have wanted to do for a long time. I have known and played with so many of the people [in FPN] for so many years, that I have become good friends with them - there are no egos, and everyone in the band brings a great energy and talent to the show."

And FPN is pleased to have found Rick at a time when he was looking for this type of project. Look for Rick to bring his extraordinary funk/blues/swing style (and maybe eventually his upright bass) to the dance groove of Front Page News.
