Schroeder
is however, the mastermind behind a band of musicians
known as "Front Page News", and has been witnessed
influencing crowds of onlookers with his enticing melodic
sounds. Although he prefers to let the other more notorious
members of the gang (the "Frontpersons") take
public spotlight for the group's activities, it is Schroeder
who originally formed and secretly runs the organization.
He
is seen in his most recent photograph with his signature
bright smile and generally pleasant demeanor. Members
of Front Page News, however, know him as "Overkill
[a.k.a O.K.] Schroeder" for his attention to detail
and extensive preparation for a "gig".
Schroeder's involvement in Front Page News stems from
his having been the original member of the group, previously
known as "Red Wing". He has reportedly been
involved in his present line of work since the age of
6 and studied formally until age 19. Schroeder first
achieved notoriety at age 20 as a member of the "Impalas",
known for their hit songs, "Oh Christina"
and "Lost Beat".
Although
given the opportunity to join with established personalities
Bobby Goldsboro and Ricky Nelson, Schroeder chose to
surrender the life on the road, and returned to formal
education. But unable to overcome his craving for music,
he continued to perform in country-western groups, eventually
forming what is now the Front Page News band.
Together
with the equally-notorious members of this group, Schroeder
has successfully led crowds of dancing, singing, cheering
participants at such hotspots as the Wisconsin State
Fair, Summerfest, and countless private and corporate
parties, bars, and roadhouses.
