March 2008

Front Page News continues to work in a variety of venues. But like all good musicians we also evolve into new and exciting projects. Opening this summer for the lengendary Lynyrd Skynyrd, is a wonderful testimony to the band! Check our schedule for more info.

Most recently Bette T, Rayman, Carole, & Barbara along with guitarist, Ron (The Hammer) Hammerschlaug, have added Scotch & Soda to their musical expression. Scotch & Soda is a semi-acoustic group bringing the best in the folk rock classics, as well as some very interesting arrangements of tunes you would't expect from a semi-acoustic group, like Chicago's "Beginnings" and Michael McDonald's "Signed Sealed Delivered". You'll find Scotch & Soda performing regularly at the New Fox & Hounds, as well as other venues, including this summer at the Slinger Fest & Washington County Fair.

Mike & Wayne recently expanded with a hot country band "Genuine Drive", bringing you the best in those great new country tunes we all love. On March 2nd, Genuine Drive took home first place in the Washington County Hodag! This entitles them the opportunity to compete in the statewide competion this summer in Rhinelander, WI, playing the same stage as some great country stars. Watch for this name... you'll be seeing them this summer!

The band has expanded as well with introduction of "shoot off" groups, like News Revue, a smaller version of FPN for your smaller parties and venues, and even a 3 or 4 piece group to fit that smaller budget.

It's been over 25 years the band has been rockin and now core band members who front the group, Bette T, Rayman, Barbara and Wayne have a full 10 years under their belt. We like to think of ourselves as the classic rock band that bites a bit of the blues and can keep it classy too.

FPN keeps it rolling and it's through these smaller group gigs that we also offer our talents, but also gives a few of us a bit more free time for other ventures! Anyway, we are looking forward to summer, and as always look forward to seeing our music friends and fans!
